Useful Information Travel - Air connections The international airport Diagoras (RHO) is one of the best in Greece. It lies 16 km away from the city, on the West Coast near the village Paradissi. There are regular flights with Aegean Airlines and Olympic Airlines to and from Athens (four flights every day), Heraklion/Crete (two times a week) and Thessaloniki (two times a week). The flight time from Athens is approximately 50 min. From the end of March till the end of September many charter flights land directly on the airport of Rhodes from all major European cities. Travel - Sea Connections Being the main port of the Dodecanese, Rhodes is linked with all the other islands of the group during summer time. There are regular ferry boats and cruises from Piraeus, Thessaloniki and Cyprus and daily hydrofoil service from the nearby islands. Schedules can be found at the Greek National Tourism Organization and the Municipal Tourist Office of Rhodes. Transportation The distance from the airport to the town of Rhodes is about 15km. There is a bus service (ticket costs 1,70 euros per person; for bus timetable, click here) and taxis (cost: approximately 12-15 euros) just outside the arrivals terminal.
